The more I continue on this journey called life, the more I learn just how important a smile can be. Have you ever stopped to think about just how many people you see each day? It's amazing to me how everyday we could pass the same people and not even know that they notice us for one reason or another. When I was in junior high I used to spend a lot of time in a class that taught kids from other countries how to speak English. I remember one day in particular, I was helping a boy by the name of Zade learn the difference between the American coins (i.e a dime, a quarter) and I asked him "what is one of the biggest differences between your home and America?" Zade sat there for a bit thinking about it. I was almost afraid that I had asked a touchy question, but he soon replied with a very sad look on his face. He said "Amber one of the things I miss most about home is, at home when we pass someone and ask them how their day is we stop and wait for an answer because it means something."
For a long time I thought about that and realized just how many times in my life I have passed a person on the street or at work and said "hi how are you" and then just kept walking. I think so many times in life we get so caught up in our day and how we feel that we really don't take the time to stop and find out how someone else's day is going. I am learning that the power of a smile as simple as it may be, is really something that could change a persons life. There are to many times in life that we take advantage of the opportunities we have to enhance the life of another person.

H. Jackson Brown, Jr. once said "Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day."
Today I challenge you to remember to smile. Even if you smile at 100 strangers, remember that maybe just maybe you are changing the life of just 1 of those people without even realizing it. In return you may find that you have a much better day yourself.
until next time..love and peace
