5 More Minutes

Is it just me or do you sometimes wish there were just 5 more minutes left in a day so that maybe you could get just a little more done. Do you ever get so busy with your daily routine that you realize it seems like Tuesday or Wednesday on the calendar has simply disappeared? Have you ever stopped and asked yourself where did the week, month or year go?

Today has yet again taught me something new. When forced to break down my daily schedule I learned just how much of my time is wasted on stupid things and how much more productive I could be. I am learning that if I cut some of those things out of my life I could have a chance to experience so much more on a day to day basis. I also learned that allowing those stupid things to get in my way has taken away from the precious time that is gone forever.

Learning to get the most out of my days has been a very interesting and enlightening Journey the last few days. I just like many others have fallen into the trap of becoming content with life rather than going out and searching for more. I have forgotten that "someday" does not exist as a day of the week and that today needs to be the day I get things done. I have often found myself making excuses for why I need to put something off for another day. I have found myself so many times saying just leave "IT" alone, or I can do "IT" tomorrow and because of that I have missed out on things.

Taking a step back and realizing that my time here is precious and what I do with that time determines the legacy I leave behind has inspired me to want more out of life. It has inspired me to push to learn something and to reach out of my comfort zone to experience things brand new. I have been reminded that I am the only one that can accomplish the dreams I have set for myself and that the only way to get to them is to stop waiting until tomorrow and start working towards them today. A wise man once said..

"Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life" ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is in those words that I have realized the world that stands in front of me is one of opportunity, promise and adventure. I must realize that in order to get the most out of this journey called life I must look past those unimportant things that hold me down or take up my time and run full force after my dreams. I must consider each many of each day a special gift and remember that tomorrow is not always promised.

What is the "it" in your life that you continue to say you will do tomorrow? "It" can be anything like getting something done around the house, spending more time with your loved ones, start a new project, Getting in shape, travel somewhere you've always wanted to go, see a movie you've been wanting to see for a long time, looking for a new job, or how about finishing school.

I challenge you to make a list just as I have of the things that you need to get done today, and then work to accomplish those things. I promise together we will feel like we are getting more out of each day.

Until next time.. Love and peace
